How was your civil services preliminary exam 2018?

  It was fantastic.

This time UPSC has prepared a balanced paper. It was both current affairs and static part. However this year current affairs was much less than last year.

UPSC is renowned for its unpredictableness. Last year it was full of current affairs. Lot of sincere candidates who were preparing from many years could not qualify prelims.

This time UPSC has provided a analytical paper. One need to think and analyse carefully over lot of questions. Even one word questions were not directly answerable. This made the difficulty level too high.

Many Newspaper including The Hindu and Indian expressUPSC Civil Services prelims 2018: Paper difficult than last year, fewer questions from current affair termed this year prelims as toughest paper after years.

My experience with exam was awesome. Very few direct questions and lot of analytical questions improved my score. By this UPSC has again proved people preparing for civil services need to be prepare for worst surprises

Overall a good one by UPSC after years.
